During a multi disciplinary roadblock held by police and Road Traffic Inspectorate on Thursday, police arrested a known drug dealer who was recently released from jail.
It is alleged the man threw some items out of his vehicle’s window when an RTI official pulled the vehicle over. Apparently, he also tried to conceal itemsunderneath his car seat after the vehicle had stopped.

The police found about 2kg of dagga inside the car.
After inspection, the man was found to be in possession of dagga weighing more than 2kg.
Police confirmed the man had been arrested before and was released from jail two weeks previously after serving a two-year sentence for dealing in drugs.
“This was not his first sentence he had served,” another official said.
“He had been in jail for dealing in drugs and possession of drugs approximately six times.”
The man was known to sell drugs at an arcade close to the taxi rank.
