Recently, one such predator was brought out of the shadows and will be facing the consequences of his actions. A 20-year-old man was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Madadeni High Court for the rape of a 75-year-old woman from Blaauwbosch.
With the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) ensuring the investigations ran smoothly, DNA samples and finger prints positively linked the perpetrator to the rape.
According to Captain Shooz Magudulela, SAPS spokesperson, the woman was raped at Xaba Stand in Blaauwbosch on 21 October 2011.
