Man threatens to butcher family at library

The man apparently became very aggressive and made racial comments

A man has been arrested and will face charges of intimidation after allegedly threatening a family at the town library on Thursday. A mother and her two daughters went to the library on Thursday afternoon with no idea of the nightmarish situation that lay in store for them. The mother was approached by a large man who allegedly said, “Hello, sweetheart”. Not knowing the man at all, she replied by saying, “Don’t be rude, I’m a married woman”.

The man then apparently became very aggressive and made racial comments. It is alleged that he threatened the woman with a knife, saying that he wasn’t scared of “butchering” her and her family. Security personnel at the library removed the man. Police and Public Safety were called to the library when the man returned. He was arrested and the woman has laid a charge against him. The suspect will appear in court on charges of intimidation. “I was scared for our safety, especially with my daughters there. We are lucky it wasn’t worse!” said the still shaken mother.
