There was further drama at the Endumeni Municipality this afternoon when tyres on two vehicles driven by top officials from the Dept of Local Government were slashed.
Two tyres on a Q7 Audi – driven by Mr T Thabane head of the ministry – were stabbed.
Another tyre on a Subaru driven by Lionel Pienaar of the Dept was slashed and another damaged.
The damage was discovered shortly after a meeting in the Council chamber where COGTA officials addressed Councillors but their presence was questioned when municipal officials were asked to leave and some Councillors wanted to know who had ‘sent the COGTA officials to Dundee’.
A security guard posted at the back of the Municipality told police he ‘had seen nothing’. The damage probably happened sometime between 11 am and 12.50pm Police are investigating. Word is that the COGTA officials are extremely unhappy with the damage to their vehicles.Cogta
