It’s short but it’s nasty: Pooh-and-Wee Lane, between Gladstone Street and Boundary Road, was again a scene out of a horror show, when it appeared as if a woman had aborted or miscarried a foetus in the alley.
A trial of bloodied tissues, from across Gladstone Street, led to the lane, where a red blotch of what appeared to be remains and blood marked the spot. Blood was also smeared against the wall. Police were called in but were unsure if the remains were that of a foetus.
Later, the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) arrived and suggested that samples be taken to verify the nature of the remains. It is unclear if this was done.
What is clear is that the lane is the scene of a thriving prostitution business, and with poo, used condoms and other unmentionables littering the lane, just about anything is possible.
