Suspects who were wanted by Ezakheni police for robberies they committed recently are behind bars.
A house robbery took place on Wednesday, September 25, in the Emtshele area in which two people armed with knives entered a house and robbed the occupant of his cell-phone and cigarettes. Three suspects were subsequently traced and arrested on October 9 and 10. They appeared briefly in the Ezakheni Magistrate’s Court on Friday, October 11. The suspects (aged 16, 19 and 20) face charges of robbery.
In another case, one of business robbery, a man robbed an employee of a sports bar in Ezakheni A-section and stole liquor. The suspect was arrested a day later and appeared briefly in court on Monday, October 14.
These successes were part of 17 arrests made during a three-day period by Ezakheni police officers. During this time, police conducted various activities aimed at addressing contact crimes and trio crimes in the area.
