Revitalization of CBD continues

Brainwave Consortium were contracted in May 2013 by the AbaQulusi Municipality on a turnkey basis, to design and upgrade Mason Park. The objective of the project is to create a green space with recreational facilities. The planned construction of the project subsequently has been split into two phases. Preliminary site preparation was initiated in August 2013. Detailed designs were approved by the AbaQulusi Municipality on October 10, 2013. The project is approximately 50% complete.
In the case of the Mason Street informal trade space and facilities upgrade, objections by the property owners now organized as DEMAS (Domonia-Mason Street Property Owners Association) has seen a delay in the implementation of the project. Several meetings have been held with DEMAS to negotiate agreement around final designs and to secure their support for the initiative.
