A Ladysmith resident is thankful to the Electricity Department for attending to a problem he was faced with recently.
At about 3.15am on the day in question, the resident realised that his alarm and electricity was off. Thinking that the entire area might be without power, he went outside to see. To his surprise, he saw that the streetlights were on and his neighbours had electricity.
Confused by this, he checked his meter box and noticed that the electricity cable had snapped. He then phoned Public Safety and the Electricity Department, who both arrived quickly even though it was the early hours of the morning.
On arrival, the workers did their best to fix the broken cable. In two hours’ time, the resident was pleased to see that the cable was fixed and by 5am, his lights were back on. “I would like to say a special thank you to the Electricity Department for coming out so early in the morning and helping me,” says the thankful resident.
