A high-speed chase involving a motorcyclist ended in his arrest on Wednesday last week.
The 27-year-old biker decided to ‘pop a wheelie’ on his Honda CBR 1000RR in Murchison Street, not realising that a Public Safety officer was travelling behind him. The Public Safety officer gave chase through the CBD, with the biker failing to stop at intersections and robots.
The officer called for back-up and a roadblock was set up in Leicester Street / Ruby Gailey Drive, in the direction where the bike was heading.
The rider was forced to stop and subsequently arrested. He was then taken to the police station and charged for reckless and negligent driving.
