Two suspects were arrested on Tuesday last week for stealing items out of a car parked near Spar.
Shortly after midday, a 59-year-old employee parked her vehicle in Shearer Road near De Franca’s Spar and went in to work. She was later called outside after someone heard her car alarm go off and saw someone inside the vehicle.
The employee found that her car door had been forced open and the ashtray which had contained R10 was missing. Police were called and two people were later arrested for the crime. The two face charges of theft out of a motor vehicle.
Police will also be checking to see whether the two are not possibly linked to other similar cases in Ladysmith.
