
The SABC broadcast live during a recent Friday in the early hours of the morning at 5am during their slot Ezanamuhla until 6.30am.
The program aimed at helping to resolve the political tension at Wembezi’s C-Section. There were four political party representatives; the ANC led by Provincial Chairperson of Safety and Security Mr Bheki Ntuli, Cllr Mthembeni Majola from the IFP, Mr Mlotshwa from the NFP and the MEC for Transport, Safety and Community Liaison Mr Willies Mchunu.
The discussion revolved around finding a solution to the political violence in C-Section.
There were also calls for leaders to refrain from abusive language during their party political addresses. The representatives also mentioned that people should be informed about freedom of speech and movement and no one should prevent other people from moving freely at any time.
There was a no to NO GO areas.
Party representatives requested that the MEC deploy more police to maintain the situation in Wembezi and related areas.
They requested that the Public Order Policing Unit remain in the area until the situation is calmer.
The MEC has promised to adhere to their calls and act swiftly so that there can be calm and stability in the area. Mr Mchunu has also encouraged parties to have dialogues in order to resolve the problems and urged communities to expose these invisible criminals who are living in their midst.
More than 300 people attended the live broadcast.
