A man believed to be a traditional healer survived a shooting in the Acaciavale area on Christmas Day.
The man sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head and neck. On hearing the shots, members of the public alerted police and the K9 Unit.
Officers searched the area and found the man lying in an open field, fully conscious. He was stabilised at the scene by Sharaj and EMRS paramedics, and then transported to hospital.
Two suspects were arrested by K9 officers the next day. Another search of the field where the alleged traditional healer was found turned up a dead body. The person had been shot dead. The motive for the shooting is unknown at this stage.
