The MEC of Cogta KZN, Mrs Nomusa Dube-Ncube, was at the Ekuvukeni community hall on Thursday to attend a special council meeting held by Indaka Municipality.
She was there along with Emnambithi/Ladysmith Mayor Vincent Madlala, uThukela District Mayor Dudu Mazibuko and Indaka Municipality councillors.
The MEC gave a speech to explain why she, in particular, was there. She said the reason was so that the Indaka and Emnambithi/Ladysmith Municipality mayors could sign a ‘Memorandum of Agreement’ (MOA) since Indaka will soon merge with Emnambithi/Ladysmith to form one municipality.
Ladysmith Mayor Madlala and Indaka Mayor Mchunu both signed the MOA, while MEC Dube-Ncube and District Mayor Mazibuko signed as witnesses.
