Following an article published online last week about a car fire inside a Utrecht resident’s garage, Jurie van Staden from Pro Ethnos Services commented online.
He stated he had indeed been contacted by the Newcastle Fire Protection Services to attend to the fire, as it would not have been able to arrive in Utrecht in time to save the car from being consumed by the fire.
Pro Ethnos had been attending to a vehicle collision at the time of the incident, and on its return, went to the scene of the fire to ensure it had been properly extinguished.
The lack of municipal protection services in Utrecht emphasises the need for private enterprise to become involved.
