
Police have urged residents to ensure that they do not buy stolen goods – even if this is done inadvertently from a ‘well-meaning stranger’ –
you will be charged.
Five housebreakings were reported in Dundee over the weekend with burglars targeting laptops, DVD players, hair clippers, hair driers, hair cream, irons, electrical appliances, hi-fi’s, radios, clothing and linen
Police said neighourhoods should mobilise themselves against criminals as this would send a strong message to would-be thieves.
“Anyone found in possession of stolen property is a thief and will be charged as such. Obtain a receipt for every item that you have paid for,” said Captain Mbense.
