For many Colita residents service delivery is just a promise.
In the Two-Room Section, known as Qonti, service delivery is almost non-existent.
The residents point to the pockmarked and damaged roads, overgrown grass and blocked storm water drains.
A memorandum with a range of service delivery concerns was delivered to the Umtshezi Municipal Manager and Mayor Bongani Dlamini.
Residents expected a meeting with the Mr Dlamini on Friday afternoon but when he did not arrive by 6.30pm, the residents decided that their next step would be a protest march from Colita to the municipal offices on Wednesday.
A meeting with Mr Dlamini took place on Sunday at the Colita Hall.
Here residents vented their frustrations about the contractor employed to tar the roads in Qonti, the neglected state of the sports ground, ward committee members and many more service delivery issues.
One of the residents who was present said that some residents left the meeting with more questions than answers.
