Bridger Street in the CBD area is now being described as an obstacle course.
The Newcastle Municipality has accepted tenders for the project, and hope to have a contractor appointed by the end of February.
“The road is bad, very bad,” said one businessman, who operates a forklift on a daily basis, dodging the crater-sized potholes everywhere on the street. Although he did not want to be quoted, the man described the road as an obstacle course for drivers.
Asked if all plans were on track to have the road fixed, the municipal communications department replied that information had been furnished to the Advertiser previously.
