A gang of robbers spent an entire night robbing a business in Newcastle Road over the weekend.
Using an angle grinder, the robbers cut their way through the roof of the business on Friday night.
Once inside, one of the gang, believed to be an alarm expert, managed to disable the alarm system and prevent it from triggering.
They then spent the rest of the night robbing the business. This included cutting into several strongrooms and safes, stealing a number of firearms (including a high-powered hunting rifle).
They also made off with a large amount of cash, laptops, computers and anything else they could carry.
The robbery was discovered the next day when the owners of the premises opened up for normal business.
Ladysmith detectives are following strong leads in the case and arrests are expected to be made soon.
