Farquhar Road becomes a river after pipe bursts

A pipe burst at the intersection of Farquhar and Convent Road causing a river to flow down the road

A river of water was seen gushing down Farquhar Road yesterday (Thursday).

A pipe burst at the intersection of Farquhar and Convent Road, resulting in a veritable river of precious water flowing down the road and into the gutters. There appeared to be several places where the water was coming from, all in the same area.

One resident commented that, “It’s such a waste of water! This is clean water that’s pouring out and there are people who do not have access to water at all. To add insult to injury, this is not the first time a pipe has burst here. The municipality needs to fix this pipe, and the other recurring burst pipes in town, once and for all!”

At the time of going to press, the municipality had failed to comment.
