The Estcourt and District SPCA welcome a new Trainee Inspector Nelson Mabaso.
The enthusiastic 28-year-old resumed duties on May 5 and says that he is in the process of familiarising himself with Estcourt and the residents.
Nelson grew up in Mooi River and after completing his matric at Nottingham Road Combined School, he joined the Mooi River SPCA.
“I grew up on a farm and have always had dogs as pets. The Mooi River SPCA helped me a lot and I wanted to do the same, that is why I joined,” he said.
Nelson says that only challenge he has faced is the number of animals that are killed on the roads.
“I think that the public needs to be more educated about keeping their dogs in their yards. Together with the municipality, we will work towards ensuring the by-laws are maintained,” he added.
