Private ambulance services help out KZN EMRS
Long before the KZN ambulance services plight made national news, Sharaj Ambulance Services were lending a hand

Sharaj Ambulance Services and ER24 are not affected by the current maintenance problems that have left KZN Emergency Medical Services with only a handful of operational ambulances in the Ladysmith area.
Long before the KZN ambulance services plight made national news, Sharaj Ambulance Services were lending a hand.
“Where possible, we have been helping to transport patients for KZN EMRS,” said a spokesperson for Sharaj Ambulance Services.
The private service has been transporting inter-hospital transfers and clinic transfers free of charge as often as they can.
“Obviously we want to ensure that everyone gets the best care possible and when we realised the EMRS problem was beyond local management’s control, we stepped up our support where possible,” explained Sharaj Ambulance Services spokesperson.
The private ambulance service has been stepping in where possible since the problem began.
