Motorists are up in arms about the traffic lights at the Newcastle Road (N11) / Helpmekaar Road intersection.

Due to roadworks, the intersection has become a permanent four-way stop. “It is no joke, especially during rush hour when you are trying to get to either Limit Hill or Modelkloof,” explained a regular morning commuter.

“Most days, they do not even send a traffic officer to help and motorists are left to fend for themselves,” she added.

“Worst is during the day when nobody is there. Wait, when there is a big accident, then Public Safety will only skrik wakker.”
