It’s crunch time for Estcourt-born Luke (Nontobeko) Ntombela whose choir has soared to the top three in Clash of the Choirs.
This television programme, which is aired on Sundays at 5.30pm on channel 161 Mzanzi Magic, sees the country’s best voices battle for the title.
Luke has been through the tiring selection process, adrenaline-rushing preparation stage and she is now at the door to the finals…but she needs your help. The top three choirs were named on Sunday and Luke’s choir Team Robbie is one of them. Team Monea and Team Sugasmax are the other teams in the top three stage.
The competition is now open to the public who can cast votes for their favourite team by sending a SMS.
Luke is appealing to everyone in Estcourt, Umtshezi and KZN to vote for Team Robbie’s all KwaZulu-Natal team. To vote for Team Robbie SMS ‘Team Robbie’ to 33045. Your vote could secure a spot for Luke and her team in the final and this would mean she could fulfil her dream of pursuing a career in music.
When speaking about the competition thus far, she says that it’s been exciting and challenging.
“We now have to learn two songs a day and this is difficult. One of the highlights was a comment from Anele, who said that our song on Sunday was one of the best performances this season. For me this was amazing because I was leading the song!” said the enthusiastic 25-year-old.
