Text books sent to Crisis Centre for recycling

Exchanging school text books for food...

There has been another book dumping shocker in Dundee.

This time at the Crisis Centre where staff surprised to find brand new primary school text books off-loaded by a rural school today.

The four boxes were found to be packed with the text books.

Staff from the school wanted the Centre to exchange the books – that are sent for recycling – for  juice and yoghurt for the Nyanyadu area school children  who were said to be desperate for food.

The Crisis Centre accepts paper, plastic and other material for recycling in exchange for food.

In return, the material is sent to the recycling company and in that way is a money earner for the Centre.

However, this is the first time that Carol Bradley and staff at the Crisis Centre have had text books delivered by a school.
