Spoiling the view for many on Mpati

Vandals have stretched out their anti-social activities to the top of the hill

Visitors are always impressed with the historic sites and the beauty of our area. However, it appears as the destructive tentacles of vandals have even stretched to the once-pristine Mpathi hill.
A group of students from Kloof High School, led by their teacher, Barbara Forbes, and local tour guide, Kevin Burge, were disappointed in the unsightly graffiti on the rocks and heaps of rubbish there, including an empty champagne bottle. Said Mr Burge: “Is it not possible for our over-worked municipal officials to perhaps sand-blast away the unsightly names and comments from this historic place? And possibly restrict the entrance to known people who will make responsible use of it, such as our tour guides, who – as I did – give talks on the rich history of the area from this unparalleled vantage point?”
