Manzolwandle Hadebe was ten-years-old when his love for writing first sparked. Mr Hadebe enjoys writing with passion and purpose. Mr Hadebe believes it is his mission is to inform the community about their surroundings.
After gaining 20 years experience in media, Mr Hadebe is currently employed by Umtshezi Municipality as the Manager of Council Matters.

Once Mr Hadebe completed his commercial subjects in 1981, he joined the SABC as a sound-engineer for what was then known as Nguni Services. “I matured rapidly as I technically supervised the radio drama production recordings,” said Mr Hadebe. “To this day I hear my productions being aired by the SABC’s Ukhozi FM: Kulikhuni Ukubayindoda, uMkhunkuli nezakhe and other stations,” he added proudly. Mr Hadebe has worked with famous sports commentators such as Koos Radebe, Ronnie Masilela and Archie Bhengu just to mention a few.

In 1991 Mr Hadebe started his studies at the School of Journalism in Tanzania. Returning from exile, Mr Hadebe rejoined the SABC’s political desk and became CEO of the SABC in 1994. He was then assigned to cover stories relating to the late world icon former President Nelson Mandela and Thabo Mbeki. However between 1996 and 1997 he took another path, he decided to choose court related issues and crime as beats he covered. In the year 2001, he was appointed to a position as the SABC National Resources Co-co-ordinator and worked as a quality controller for all language services travelling to all SABC radio stations in the country.

In 2002, he joined the SABC’s external services – Channel Africa as a gatekeeper at a Senior News Editor’s position. “I was also fortunate to work with Mr Thami Ntenteni who was once a director in President Thabo Mbeki’s office, who at the time was my line manager. As part of the executive, I managed to draft the station business plan, which is still in operation so far. This included new innovations such as Webcasting, 24-hours broadcasting,” shared Mr Hadebe with great interest. “I am a professional photographer. I started taking pictures at the age of 10,” added Mr Hadebe. The motto that Mr Hadebe lives by is, redress the damages of the past and serve the people with dignity and respect.
