Scouts reap rewards for hard work
While the children reaped the rewards of hard work and dedication, the evening did have a more serious side, as the Annual General Meeting was held as well.
Newcastle Scouts had their annual prize giving last Thursday evening.
Beaming with pride, the youngsters received trophies and certificates in front of their parents, adding to the night’s excitement.

Barbara Seegers, Scouts chairperson, said although the finances were healthy, the organisation should be more visible in the community.
Treasurer, Kevin Bosman, agreed with this sentiment.
“There has been a slight financial loss due to lower membership numbers,” he said.
Through increasing the membership, membership fees could be kept at a minimum, he continued.
Parents were encouraged to become more involved in the Scouts movement.
