Give a brief description of what you are currently doing: I am currently working at Stucky Motors as a receptionist/host.
In what year did you enter Miss Newcastle? 2013
Why did you enter Miss Newcastle? After entering and competing in the pageant would you recommend that other young girls should enter? At the time I was working as a waitress when my boss suggested I enter Miss Newcastle. Without out a doubt! Any girl aspiring to be a model should definitely enter.
The competition exposes you to so many new experiences. How do you think that entering Miss Newcastle has changed your life? Through entering Miss Newcastle I went from being sponsored by Stucky Motors to becoming one of their staff members.
What were some of the biggest challenges you experienced throughout the competition? My biggest challenge was the fear of failure. I was so scared the judges wouldn’t see my potential. I became more open-minded, welcomed the new experiences and just had fun.
Do you think that some of these challenges changed into strengths by the end of the competition? Yes. I became more willing to learn about the dos and don’ts of the modelling industry. The girls and mentors were always willing to help me.
What was the most memorable part of competing in Miss Newcastle? Honestly, each and every event and experience was amazing. I learnt so much about myself, the other girls and Newcastle as a whole. There is so much beauty and possibility in our town that very few recognise and make use of.
What have you gained from taking part in the competition? How do you think this will benefit you going forward? I have learnt to grasp every opportunity I get with both hands. I dare to dream and live life to the fullest.
