Play park, no place for children

A park situated on Van Niekerk Avenue is apparently no place for children.

This comes after allegations have surfaced regarding men using the park for their own form of play.

“They hold parties there, drink alcohol, and glass pieces can often be found all over the place,” said an irate resident who wished to remain anonymous.

The resident further accused visitors to the park of indecency and said it was time the facility should be cleaned up. “There are no children at the park anymore and it is because of these men who hang around there.”

The municipality’s communication department was contacted for comment, but no statement was forthcoming at the time of going to print.
