Imbabazane Municipality Councillor attacked in shop

The complainant was attacked while in his shop and shots were fired directly at him. He did not sustain any injuries

Police are investigating a case of murder after shots were fired at an Imbabazane Municipality councillor on Wednesday, January 7. Spokesperson Captain JS Sokhela explains: “At about 6.30am a case of attempted murder was reported from the Bhekuzulu area in Drycott. The complainant was attacked while in his shop and shots were fired directly at him. He did not sustain any injuries.”

The Estcourt Detectives are investigating a case of attempted murder and no arrests have been made. “The motive for the attack is unknown at this stage. We urge anyone who has information to forward such information to the Branch Commander of the Estcourt Detectives Major Mkhize on 036 342 9512. Any positive information, which will lead to an arrest and successful prosecution will be rewarded,” commented Captain Sokhela.
