Ladysmith detectives arrested three housebreaking suspects and recovered suspected stolen property on Tuesday morning.
This after Ladysmith Detective Services formed a team and went out to the Steadville and Umbulwane areas to work on information about the whereabouts of possible housebreaking suspects. Swift detective work resulted in the arrest of three suspects aged between 18 and 36, in possession of stolen property.
The property, which was stolen during a housebreaking late last month in the Steadville area, includes television sets, tools, bedding, clothing and a fridge, and is valued at around R8000.
The three suspects are expected to appear in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of possession of stolen property, as well as housebreaking and theft.
In a separate incident, Ladysmith detectives arrested a 30-year-old man on Friday in connection with several incidents of housebreaking that took place in the Acaciavale area. So far, the man has been charged with six counts of housebreaking and theft.
He appeared in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court earlier this week, where he was remanded into custody.
The suspect is set to appear in court again on Monday.
