A collision along the N11 on Tuesday afternoon has left a man critically injured.
According to an unofficial police source, the motorist was travelling towards Ladysmith when he allegedly veered into oncoming traffic. His bakkie then collided into a truck which had been travelling in the opposite direction.
“He sustained multiple fractures and head injuries. He will be taken to Mediclinic Newcastle,” said Jan-Henk van Vuuren, ER24 paramedic and spokesperson.
Police spokesperson, Captain Shooz Magudulela, said a case of reckless and negligent driving has been opened.
“Investigations will be conducted to determine who was responsible for the collision.”
