This morning the lives of nine people were turned upside down.
The people had been traveling on the R34 towards Blood River when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it overturned.
The incident occurred at around 8.30am.
Several passengers involved were injured and is believed to have been taken to Vryheid Hospital for treatment.
Five people were allegedly critically injured.
KwaZulu-Natal Emergency Medical Services Media Liaison Officer Robert Mckenzie said paramedics had been working extremely hard to ensure no lives were lost in the incident.
Once again he advised motorists to be cautious when driving during the weekend, and to ensure their vehicles were up to the task.
