The deceased in the shooting on the Colenso/Pieters road on Friday afternoon has been identified as Mxolisi Mabaso (21).
A father and son were on their way home when they were forced off the road in the Pieters area by unknown heavily-armed gunmen and ambushed in what is described as a “military style” attack.
The attack left an elderly businessman in critical condition.
The businessman’s son (the driver) was killed.
Colenso detectives are now investigating a case of murder and attempted murder.
