A tip-off resulted in two suspects being arrested and about R5000 worth of dagga being recovered yesterday (Wednesday).
This after the Ladysmith Dog (K9) Unit received information about two people who had allegedly been seen offering dagga for sale in Leonard Road.
On arrival at the scene, they spotted a Fiat Uno with two occupants. A search of the vehicle turned up 13 tightly-packed parcels of dagga, as well as loose dagga.
In total, the drugs weighed in at around 4.4kg with an estimated street value of about R5000.
Two suspects, aged 28 and 39, were arrested and their vehicle seized.
The suspects are set to appear in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court today (Thursday) on charges of possession of dagga.
