Dinner for charity

Stepping up to the plate, Eagle Peak Spur held a charity event to support Morester Children’s Home on Tuesday evening.

Morester Children’s Home is more than a home for children; it is a place of safety.

Children are usually placed at the home to escape negligence or abuse.

“If we do not care for them, these children will land on the streets,” said Ria Naudè from the home.

To care for the children, finances are needed, and the list of requirements is endless. Without contributions from the community and fund-raisers, the home cannot be run effectively.

Stepping up to the plate, Eagle Peak Spur held a charity event on Tuesday evening.

Patrons who dined at the establishment, were able to contribute to the home by simply enjoying their meals, as a percentage of all bills went to Morester Children’s Home.

“It is a nice way to support charity. You get to enjoy a meal and contribute at the same time,” said Elmar Gouws from Eagle Peak Spur.

“I do not see it as charity; they are part of the community. If you can give someone without expecting anything in return, it will come back some how.”

Mrs Naudè thanked Mr Gouws and his team for their positive contribution.

“As a brand we have been in Newcastle for 25 years, and our community supports us. So, we like to give back to the community in any way possible,” Mr Gouws concluded.
