High Street Bridge taking shape

Upon our last inspection of the site on September 4, the manhole covers, which had been substantially raised recently, were mostly covered by the sand, which has been levelled out and is now starting to take shape into what will eventually become a shortcut for motorists between the upper and lower sections of High Street.

IT HAS been a while, but the construction of the long awaited High Street Bridge is finally starting to bear fruit, as it were.

Progress appears to be developing somewhat steadily as the piles of rubble and sand on the north side of the bridge have eventually been transformed into what is starting to resemble an actual roadway. Upon our last inspection of the site on September 4, the manhole covers, which had been substantially raised recently, were mostly covered by the sand, which has been levelled out and is now starting to take shape into what will eventually become a shortcut for motorists between the upper and lower sections of High Street.
