After a two-day strike broke out on Wednesday morning, August 26, management have agreed to investigate grievances cited by staff members.
Management is currently waiting for a group of private investigators to conclude their investigation. A detailed report will be delivered on the findings before the announcement of the final decision taken by management and council is made.
It’s said that employees have tolerated enough labour-related issues and resorted to strike action to voice their concerns. Multiple municipal services were disrupted by the strike before it came to end on Thursday, August 27.
All municipal services resumed as usual on Friday, August 28. It is also unknown whether residents affected by the strike have been reimbursed in any way.
