The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) strives to address unemployment among young people.
Its core activity is to focus on education and skills development. A NYDA representative told last week’s Council meeting that funding is available for young people to start their own businesses as long as they are aged between 14 and 35. Councillors accepted the partnership but Councillor Bongiwe Mbatha emphasized that youth who need help must not be treated according to their political affiliation.
