Watch out for con artists claiming to have been appointed by Endumeni Municipality
One unlucky resident parted with R5000 hoping to receive a meter which would save them money.

Residents have been warned to be on the look out for a scam company fleecing people out of thousands of Rands after duping them into believing that the municipality had appointed the company.
Mark Donaldson, Endumeni’s electrical manager, said there have been several incidents where residents had been approached by representatives of the company who claimed that they are replacing and installing new electricity and water meters ‘to save the residents money’.
Residents who are approached by company representatives should contact the municipality or the SAPS.
“One unlucky resident parted with R5000 hoping to receive a meter which would save them money. I would like to inform the residents of Endumeni that we are not associated with this company and we have certainly not employed them as a service provider, so please do not fall the this scam.
“The only company that Endumeni has employed as a service provider dealing with which requires a door to door inspections is the meter audit company Rio-Ridge.”
Residents who are approached by company representatives should contact the municipality or the SAPS.
