Although a new organisation, the club walked away with a first place overall after the Amajuba District Long Course Championships earlier this month.

Of nine participating teams, Aqua Adrenaline ended first with 3 504 points.

“In second place was Marlins from Ladysmith, third Newcastle Swimming Club and fourth Pongola.”

Coach, Grace Filipe is very proud of each and every one of her swimmers, stating the club could not have done so well without their commitment, dedication and hard work.

She also thanked the parents for their continued support and ensuring swimmers were at training.

Aqua Adrenaline swimmers won 28 trophies, 50 gold medals, 28 silver medals and 39 bronze medals.

Results are as follows:

Minette Janse van Vuuren: seven trophies; nine gold and two silver medals

Ruan Jansen van Vuuren: four trophies; five gold, five silver and two bronze medals

Rhuben Nortjé: four trophies; five gold, four silver and two bronze medals

Xander Senekal: three trophies; three gold, one silver and one bronze medal

Vanessa van der Merwe: two trophies; four gold and two silver medals

Emma Branco-Lizen: two trophies; four gold, four silver and two bronze medals

Welné Pretorius: two trophies; two gold, one silver and one bronze medal

Storm van der Merwe: one trophy; three gold and one silver

Wuan Pretorius: one trophy; two gold, one silver and one bronze medal

Ellené Scholtz: one trophy; one gold medal

Graham Whitehead: two gold, four silver and three bronze medals

FC Scholtz: two gold, one silver and five bronze medals

Ingrid Groenewald: two gold and two bronze medals

Lanhel du Preez: two gold medals

Lara Groenewald: two gold medals

Daniélle Bosman: one gold, one silver and six bronze medals

Francois Viviers: one gold, one silver and two bronze medals

LJ van Staden: one gold, one silver and one bronze medal

Cornel-Mari van der Merwe: one gold and one bronze medal
