River overflowing with sewage
In about 10 years, the pump house has only been fixed once and has broken yet again, leaving residents in a state of desperation

An estimated 100,000 litres of sewage per day is running into the Klip River at the corner of Carbineer Road and Soldiers Way.
This you will see if you drive down the dirt road. Standing on top of the hill next to the broken pump house, you can smell the terrible stench being carried by the wind. Imagine the residents of the area having to tolerate this foul odour on a daily basis? They probably don’t even open their windows unless they absolutely have to.
In the morning, from about 5am to 7am, and yet again from 6pm onwards at night, the situation gets worse due to the volume of people at their houses. In about 10 years, the pump house has only been fixed once and has broken yet again, leaving residents in a state of desperation.
Complaints have been made to uThukela and yet the situation has not yet been rectified.
