Public Safety are true heroes over festive season

Public Safety performed a series of law enforcement exercises over the festive season, issuing no less than 5501 notices. In addition, 791 warrants of arrest were executed. 238 vehicle check points (VCP) were held, where 56 drunk driving arrests were made and 44 vehicles suspended.

A total of 281 arrests have been made by Public Safety officers for drunk driving since January.

Emnambithi/Ladysmith Municipality would like to continue to emphasise that road safety is important. “We would like to encourage the community to be extra careful on the roads and respect the rules of the road,” say the municipality.

Public Safety will continue to roll out road safety campaigns and ensure that safety is adhered to at all times on the roads.
