A pedestrian was hit by a car at the Pieters turn-off, Helpmekaar Road, on Saturday afternoon, and the vehicle simply drove off.
Traffic slowed down and motorists stopped to help the man and contact emergency services. Sharaj Ambulance Services responded and on arrival at the scene, they stabilised the patient before transporting him to hospital.
The man sustained moderate injuries. In the ambulance, it was noticed that the patient was slightly confused and didn’t know where he was or what had happened.
