Pipeline break results in water outage for Dundee, Glencoe

Water could be off for 12 hours

There will be no water for at least 12 hours in both Dundee and Glencoe (as of now) following a break in the pipeline feeding the Biggarsberg water treatment plant from the Buffalo River at Tayside.

Umzinyathi District Municipality’s, Nomonde Nzimakwe, said Dundee and Glencoe have been ‘choked as of immediate effect in order to retain water in the reservoirs.

“The outage will last for approximately 12 hours whilst repairs is made by the Uthukela Water team to the pipe line.”

“Dam levels are alarmingly low and communities are urged to use water sparingly as the drought is not over yet. Water is life! Save Water Now!”
