Dundee and Glencoe – prepare for another water shut off tomorrow

Residents are urged to prepare and store water for usage during the shutdown, as the shutdown will be the whole day.

There is a planned shutdown of the water supply in Endumeni tomorrow, at the  Tayside pump station from 8am to 8pm  in order to prepare the line for pigging. This refers to pigging in the context of pipelines refers to the practice of using devices known as “pigs” to perform various maintenance operations.

Umzinyathi District Municipality explained that the process involves checking and cleaning the line from Tayside to the Biggarsberg Water Treatment Plant. This will have an effect on the water supply to Dundee and Glencoe. Residents are urged to prepare and store water for usage during the shutdown, as the shutdown will be the whole day.
