‘Parking off’ without toilets is not fun

Local women use to exercise in the park but find it inconvenient because of the lack of amenities.

There is a security on patrol but he too is left to the elements, as there is no guardroom. He too does not have access to water or a toilet.
Thoko Makaba, the ward six Councillor, said she had arranged the park, on Ayob Street, to be fenced in 2012.
“We also got the municipality to put in the gym equipment.
“I wrote a letter to the previous official in charge of sport in the municipal area asking him for toilets and shelter.
“The lack of a toilet and water is a serious problem.”
The park was formally opened by the MEC of Sport and Recreation Sbhidla Saphetha.
