Take note of new water ‘choking’ and opening times

Low-lying areas will probably not be affected as much as the higher lying areas

As the worst drought in over 70 years continues to bite, residents should take note of the new ‘opening’ and ‘choking’ hours of the water supply implemented by the Umzinyathi District Municipality.

Nomonde Nzimakwe, Communications Manager, told the Courier that in Glencoe/Sithembile the water supply will be open in the mornings from 4am to 10am and in the afternoons from 4pm to 7pm.

In Dundee/Sibongile, the hours are:  open in the mornings from: Morning : 4am to 8am and in the afternoons from 4pm to 7pm.

Remember that low-lying properties will probably but not affected as much by the cuts because water will continue to flow in the pipes thanks to the lie of the land.
