Pretty powerful with ABSA

NEWCASTLE – In bygone years, the business world was run by men, while women ran households.
This is no longer true, as women have shown their worth in the corporate world.

On Tuesday morning, ABSA Bank KZN hosted a brunch for their top women clientele.
This was part of an initiative which kicked off in Durban on August 25, before making its way to Newcastle.
The purpose of the event was to celebrate women who thrived in the business world, while promoting shared growth, prosperity and closing the void in women leadership.
Through initiatives such as the brunch, ABSA is looking at ways to create opportunities for the bank to grow with its clients.
Entrepreneur, Nox Luthuli was the keynote speaker at the event.
She is the managing director of Bloom Marketing and is the epitome of what a woman should strive to be.
“I want to encourage women to pursue their dreams, to progress from ‘me to we’ and to empower themselves while helping other women to improve their lives.”
Despite her experience of running a company for the past 13 years, Mrs Luthuli said her journey into the business world was far from an easy one.
“I was raised in Newcastle, and I remember walking the dusty roads of oSizweni. My desire to better myself did not allow my circumstances to get the better of me.”
She said others could also further their career prospects by taking responsibility.
“I believe women can close the unemployment gap and strengthen the moral fibre of our communities. But we need to collaborate and make the shift for a stronger economy.”
Mrs Luthuli’s inspiring words of wisdom were positively received.
