The street value of the recovered dagga is estimated at about R22 500

Two men aged 21 and 25 appeared last Tuesday in the Bergville Magistrate’s Court for possession of dagga. They were arrested in the Dukuza area of Upper Tugela during a stop and search operation held on Friday, September 2.

They were found in possession of 12.6kg of loose dagga, which has an estimated street value of around R19 000. In a similar incident, four suspects aged between 41 and 44 also appeared in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court last Tuesday.

They were arrested in four different incidents in the KwaDlamini and Dutch areas of Ntabamhlophe, as well as the Emnyangeni and Emakekeni areas of Amangwe (Loskop).

One of the four was found in possession of over 14kg of dagga while the others were found with smaller amounts of dagga, the smallest of which is two grams.  The street value of the recovered dagga is estimated at about R22 500.
